    The Hotel Utah (1911-1987) Collectible Plate Dated 1987 - Scarce Limited Edition
    The Hotel Utah operated at the corner of Main Street and South Temple in downtown Salt Lake City for 76 years from 1911 - 1987.  The building is an important historical establishment for the state of Utah.
    Upon closing, the Hotel Utah became the Joseph Smith Memorial Building; named after Joseph Smith, the founder of the Latter Day Saint (Mormon) movement.
    This plate was made when the Hotel Utah closed in 1987 and commemorates the "76 years of unsurpassed hostelry" provided by the establishment.  It also pays homage to the following dates:
    1911:  Hotel Utah Opens
    1970:  Admitted to the Preferred Hotels Association
    1976:  Rated Five Diamond "Renowned" by AAA
    1979:  Named National Historic Site
    1987:  Hotel Utah Closes
    In researching this plate I was unable to find any comparable to determine a price, which leads me to believe that it is fairly scarce.
    This limited edition fine porcelain plate measures just about 8.25" in diameter.  The plate stand is for display only and not included in this sale.
