    Description

Here is an elegant Japanese cloisonne enamel vase in the rare wireless (musen shippo) technique.
The vase is very understated and simple and worked in various shades of white, purple and light and dark green enamels that provide the soft depiction of the wisteria blossoms and leaves.
The highlight of the vase is the subtlety achieved with the wonderful shading of the wisteria blossoms with the light white and purple enamels.
The artist trademark is impressed in the center of the bottom base and consists of an outline form of a dried salmon and the most probable hiragana character of “Ke.”
The fine musen vase is in pristine vintage condition without any major faults such as cracks, chips, hairlines, or restoration.  I originally purchased this vase many years ago as part of my fanatical and relentless efforts to obtain as many examples and variations musen (wireless) vases for my reference book.
This exact vase is pictured on page 56, in Chapter 8, “Musen-Jippo, Without wire, wireless enamel and E-Gaki-Jippo painted enamel,” in the reference book entitled, “Japanese Cloisonne Enamels; A Private Collector’s Notes and Reference Guide" by Gary Yoshino.
The successful buyer of this vase will be provided with a copy of page 56 from the reference book.
Overall, a very refined and high quality cloisonné vase that is marked by the artist. Specialists agree that less than 7.0% of all Japanese cloisonne enamels are marked or signed by their artist or workshops.
Here is your opportunity to acquire a fine, well documented, wireless musen vase for the fraction of the retail price!
The height of this vase is approximately 9.5 inches
The width of the vase is approximately 4.0 inches
As Japanese cloisonné enamel is very fragile, we will double box and pack this item with tremendous care.
Due to the large size of this vase, I am requesting that the successful buyer help offset some of the total cost of shipping this wonderful vase by USPS Priority Mail with insurance to confirmed addresses within the United States.  We currently are unable to ship overseas or make international deliveries at this time.
International buyers who utilize US based freight forwarding services are requested to refrain from bidding at this time.
Please ask any and all questions

    to bidding.  Thank you!
