RAILROAD-SOUTHERN PACIFIC PRAIRIE MOUNTAIN WILDFLOWERS DIVIDED OVAL PLATTER BS
Offered today is a divided oval platter from the Southern Pacific Railroad in the Prairie Mountain Wildflowers pattern. The platter is approx. 12" long and 7 3/4" wide, and is divided into three sections. The platter features the rolled rim, and two flowers in the center, and one in each of the other sections. The platter is backstamped as follows: "Prairie-Mountain Wildflowers, Ruby Lily, California Poppy, Baby Blue Eyes, Azalea". "Made Expressly for Southern Pacific Lines Dining Car Service". "By Onondaga Pottery Co. Syracuse N.Y. Design Cpyrighted 1931". Also on the Back are the words, "Syracuse China Econo-Rim, date code 9-T, Trade Mark Patented. The platter is in very good condition, Good Glaze, no cracks or chips on the front, some use marks in the center, and some slight roughness on the top of dividers. There is one spot on the back on the rim with two cracks approx. 1 1/4" long. (this does not show when the platter is upright (see photos).
