NORDIC SCANDINAVIAN TEA COZY WOOL REINDEER HIDE VINTAGE HANDMADE THICK PADDING

Description

This handmade Nordic Scandinavian orange wool tea cozy has reindeer hide patches highlighted by green and yellow wool sawtooth trim.  One side has a geometric design stitched at the top.  Also a pair of green and orange "ears" to remove the cozy from the teapot.  Stitching is by sewing machine.  The lining is a deep navy blue fabric of unknown fiber and is hand stitched to the orange wool.  The padding is probably wool or cotton and quite thick.
The Vesterheim Museum in Decorah, Iowa identified it as a tea cozy but could not estimate its age.  It measures 12" long by 11" high.  There is a bit of minor soiling on both sides and some moth damage as well from before it came into my possession.  No odors, and comes from a smoke free and pet free environment.  Over all a lovely, very unique, collectible tea cozy.
