    Description

    Missouri Kansas Texas, M-K-T, Katy original Buffalo Alamo blue band plate with a stained crack. This was a piece introduced in the Katy’s dining cars to promote travel to Texas and the Alamo to celebrate the 1936 Texas Centennial. I believe they were used as chargers and were offered for sale on the trains. The size is 10 3/4” in diameter and on the back is stamped “Ye Olde Ivory by Buffalo China” and “made expressly for the MK&TRR.” Unfortunately there is a stained crack in the lower left corner that is 1 3/8” long with a chip on the back side but it is still a handsome piece.
