CONDITION : Good considering the age. Used.
There is a repair of natural flaw that occurred at the time of baking, and chip on the rim. And a lid also has flaws. But it can not be helped. because this is a really old item. And it is not a problem for use. Because the water does not leak.
AGE : 1800-1868 (It is the late Japanese Edo period).
This is the old original. This is never an imitation.
MATERIAL : Stoneware of Bizen-yaki.
Bizen-yaki is pottery and stoneware made in Bizen area, Japan. Bizen area is current Okayama Prefecture. That history is very old. The origin is the 12 century. And Bizen is one of the Six Ancient Kilns. It does not rarely use the glaze. That is a natural glaze occurring by chance in a kiln. The texture of clay with natural glaze attract Japanese people. Sometimes, we represent it with a Wabi-Sabi.
