    Baltimore & Ohio, B&O Railroad Centenary 1827-1927 Scammell's Lamberton 9” plate. This is a great example of railroad anniversary celebration china. The B&O actually referred to this china as the "Colonial" or "Blue Colonial" pattern or sometimes simply as the "blue china.” This has an elegant and intricate design, using multiple shades of blue on a white base to depict scenic locations and historic B&O locomotives, even a horse drawn carriage, all wrapped around Harper’s Ferry. The diameter is actually 8 7/8” and the condition is very good with hardly any marks at all. A wonderful piece that recognizes the very earliest railroad in the country.
