Description
DescriptionThese amazing columns were salvaged from the front porches of 2 Philadelphia Victorians.
They are made of cast iron and are hollow but still weigh around 350 pounds each.
The bases and tops are square.
The shafts are round and taper up with fluting on the lower halves.
They have great ionic capitals and the tops are trimmed in egg and dart.
The embellishments go all the way around all 4 sides.
They have chippy white paint and surface rust overall.
There are no cracks or breaks and your bid buys the pair.
Each measures 75 inches tall, 16 square at the bases and 14 square at the tops.
Overall it is in good condition. There are misc. scratches, chips and dings as it is antique.
The bases have some roofing tar on them. Please look at the pictures carefully.

Terms of Sale
I accept returns only if my description is inaccurate. For example, if I pull an item from a building that I believe to be original to the house and it is later discovered to be a reproduction, or if I enter an incorrect measurement, I will allow the buyer to return the item. I describe all my items as accurately as possible with descriptions and often pictures of any damage. I try to measure within 1/8 of an inch.
About Us
My salvage business was born of necessity in 1993 when I started restoring an old Victorian home that had seen better days. I needed doors, staircase parts, fireplace mantles and more, so I contacted the owners of a few local buildings that were scheduled for demolition. I found and purchased all of the things that I needed for my project and lots of extra treasures which I eventually resold. 17 years later this is still my full time job! I salvage whatever I can think can be reused as long as there is room in my warehouse. The warehouse is open for treasure hunting anytime by appointment. Just contact me to schedule a day and time! Thanks for visiting. Steve and Michelle
